Sunday 25 May | Day 05: Mýrdalsjökull Glacier - Solheimajokull Glacier - Selfoss
After breakfast and room check out, we shall enjoy a short photo stop at Yoda Cave, before we arrive at our next destination, the Katla Ice Cave Tour. Hop on a Super Jeep and travel along rugged rural roads as you admire the incredible landscapes and jaw-dropping sights as you make your way to your first stop. Arrive at Mýrdalsjökull Glacier and take in the stunning views of the Ice Cap and feel the thrill of crossing a vast glacial expanse. Then arrive at the cave and explore the frigid blue and black-colored interior. Learn about its formations and admire its spectacular beauty with your experienced guide. We then shall visit Reynisfjara – the black sand beach – the most famous beach on the South Coast of Iceland. Its beautiful black sand, powerful waves, and the nearby Reynisdrangar sea stacks make this a truly unique place to visit and a popular filming location of Game of Thrones, Star Wars and more. While walking on the beach, look out for the Puffin, Iceland’s beautiful bird
We shall then proceed on a short walk to the Solheimajokull Glacier for a wonderful photo-stop opportunity. We then visit Skógafoss, one of the largest and most elegant waterfalls in Iceland followed by the Seljalandfoss and Grufjabul waterfall. This spectacular natural wonder drops around 60 meters into a tranquil pool below. We can also walk behind the waterfall to view it from a complete 360° angle! We shall stay overnight at the Hotel South Coast (or similar) in Selfoss.
